Shagun Sharma REACTS To Rumours Of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Going Off Air

Shagun Sharma addresses rumours of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 going off air in January 2026, clarifying there’s no official confirmation yet.

She reveals the show was always intended as a finite series, serving as a tribute to Ekta Kapoor’s timeless classic.

Star Plus’ popular drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, which marked the return of Smriti Irani as the iconic Tulsi Virani may soon come to an end. Reports suggest that the show, which has maintained strong TRPs since its premiere, might go off air in January 2026. The news has left viewers both curious and emotional, especially since the show revived one of Indian television’s most beloved stories.

Amid growing buzz about the show’s conclusion, actress Shagun Sharma, who plays Pari, has addressed the speculation. Speaking about the rumours, she admitted that she, too, had read reports claiming Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 would end early next year. However, she clarified that neither the production house nor the channel has made any official confirmation.

She said,

“Yeah, I’ve read those reports too, suggesting that Kyunki might go off air in January. I don’t have any official confirmation, so I can’t really say yes or no to that.”

The actress further explained that the series was always planned as a limited-run project. She added, “One thing I can tell you is that Kyunki was always meant to be a finite series. As Ektaa Kapoor ma’am mentioned in her own post, she brought Kyunki back as a limited series.”

Shagun clarified that, unlike the original Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which ran for several years and became one of India’s most iconic family dramas, the reboot was never intended to continue indefinitely. She said, “While I don’t know exactly when it’s ending, it was never meant to run for years like two, three, four, or five seasons since it’s a finite show.”

The actress’s comments echo Ektaa Kapoor’s earlier statement that the revival was created as a tribute to the original’s legacy, not as a long-running continuation. The aim was to deliver a modern, emotionally engaging narrative within a defined storyline rather than an open-ended daily soap.

Though no official statement has been made by the makers, the discussion about the show’s conclusion has already gained traction on social media. Fans have expressed mixed reactions, some are sad to see it potentially end so soon, while others appreciate that the series was designed to wrap up with a complete story arc.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 brought back nostalgia for audiences who grew up watching the original show. If reports turn out to be true, the series will likely conclude in January, fulfilling its plan as a limited series while leaving behind yet another memorable chapter in Indian television history.
