John Abraham Is Sure The Diplomat Is Deserving Of A National Award Win

John Abraham has received a lot of love for his latest release, The Diplomat. The movie in fact, received a lot of love from fans, and so did the actor. For the unversed, the movie narrates the story of an Indian diplomat, JP Singh, who is out on a task to rescue an Indian woman, Uzma (Sadia Khateeb), who gets tricked into a marriage in Pakistan.

While The Diplomat has gotten raving reviews and continues to be in the news, John recently said how he hopes that the movie gets a National Award. In fact, he also said that he believes that the film deserves to get more love for its plot and everything else that it has to offer.

Earlier, John Abraham-produced Vicky Donor and Madras Cafe received National Awards, and this time around, he thinks that The Diplomat should also get one.

John Abraham, in an interview with News18, went on to say that he thinks The Diplomat deserves to be there along with other films, and he hopes other films of his, too, win the honour. John Abraham said, “Does The Diplomat deserve to be in that space and get nominated for the National Awards? More than yes! It’s a resounding yes!”

Further, John Abraham also said how The Diplomat is a credible movie and it is a film made for India. Directed by Shivam Nair, The Diplomat is produced by T-Series Films, JA Entertainment, Wakaoo Films, Seeta Films, and Fortune Pictures.

The movie was released on March 14 this year and was written by Ritesh Shah. Apart from John Abraham, The Diplomat also features Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, and Jagjeet Sandhu, among others.

Among other things, John Abraham recently also spoke about wanting to reunite with Akshay Kumar, and mentioned Garam Masala 2. In his recent interviews, the actor has also spoken about his no-publicity approach, the success following Pathaan, and more.

Meanwhile, The Diplomat is slated for an OTT release on Netflix. However, the film’s OTT release date has not been announced yet.
