Roma Navani, known for shows like Hum Paanch, Ishq Mein Ghayal, and Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan, is currently touring in a new stage comedy with Rakesh Bedi.

Between performances, she spoke about navigating friendships in an industry built on competition.

She doesn’t see competition and genuine connection as opposing forces, even in an industry known for both.

The entertainment industry is definitely competitive, but I don’t think competition and friendship necessarily have to be enemies.

Genuine friendships are rare, but when you find them, they are incredibly special, Roma Navani said.

What makes those friendships work, she believes, comes down to a simple absence of insecurity.

I believe if there is mutual respect and no insecurity, you can genuinely be happy for each other’s success, Roma Navani said.

She feels it’s not the career highs that define a relationship.

At the end of the day, careers will have their ups and downs, but the people who stand by you through those phases are the ones who truly matter, Roma Navani said.

With a hectic schedule that comes with long shoots and stage tours, Roma Navani admits making time for people isn’t always easy, but she’s found her own way around it.

I think the people who truly matter always find a place in your life, no matter how busy you are.

My schedule can be hectic, but I make it a point to stay connected with the people I love, Roma Navani said.

For her, it’s rarely about grand plans. Sometimes it’s a late-night phone call, a quick coffee between shoots or just a message saying, ‘Thinking of you,’ Roma Navani said.

What matters most, she says, isn’t the quantity of time spent together. It’s not always about the amount of time you spend together; sometimes it’s simply about making someone feel that they are remembered and valued.

For me, that’s what keeps relationships alive, Roma Navani ended.
