Vandana Pathak On Returning To Television After A Six-Year Gap: I Wasn’t Receiving Exciting Offers

Vandana Pathak, a powerhouse actress, is making her long-awaited return to television after a six-year hiatus with Tum Se Tum Tak, a Hindi remake of the popular Marathi series Tula Pahate Re. Produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah’s Studio LSD, the show marks Vandana Pathak’s return to the small screen, following her last appearance in the same production house’s Manmohini.
In an exclusive conversation with Downtown Mirror Weekly, Vandana Pathak shared the reasons behind her absence from TV. “It wasn’t a deliberate break,” she explained. She said, “My father-in-law’s health was a priority, and I wanted to be by his side. Also, I wasn’t receiving any offers that truly excited me. At the same time, I immersed myself in Gujarati cinema, where I was fortunate enough to explore a range of diverse roles. The opportunities there were incredibly fulfilling. It’s inspiring to see how makers now see actors in such a new, dynamic light.”
So, what finally lured her back to television? Vandana Pathak revealed, “It was LSD, the production house. I loved working with them on Manmohini, so when they approached me again, it felt like coming home. They had been in touch with me for a while, but I was caught up with my Gujarati film commitments. Now that I have the time, this show and my character felt like the perfect fit.”
In Tum Se Tum Tak, Vandana Pathak will portray the mother of Sharad Kelkar’s character. This show also marks Sharad’s return to the small screen after eight years, following his last fiction role in Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai. The show’s female lead is Niharika Chouksey, who has appeared in popular shows like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
With an intriguing storyline and a talented cast, Tum Se Tum Tak promises to be a thrilling comeback for Vandana Pathak.
