In an exclusive chat with Downtown Mirror Weekly, Udaariyaa and Dil Ko Rafu Kar Lei actress Kamal Dadialla spoke about working with Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s production house Dreamiyata Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
Looks like Kamal Dadialla is Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s favorite. After casting her as Tejo and Jasmine’s mother Satti, the producer duo roped her in to play Nikki’s mother in Dil Ko Rafu Kar Lei. In an exclusive chat with Downtown Mirror Weekly, Kamal talks about working on one of a kind project Dil Ko Rafu Kar Lei and her bond with Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta.
Talking about being a part of Dil Ko Rafu Kar Lei, Kamal Dadialla said “I always feel proud to be a part of a project like that. It will always be a milestone as it was the first drama that was adapted like a Pakistani show. The show has received immense love and adulation, despite it being the first of its kind and it only makes me feel extremely proud. Apart from that, it is always an honor of being a part of projects produced by Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta.”
Recalling her association with Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta, Kamal Dadialla recalled, “I met Ravi Sir and Sargun Ma’am during Udaariyaan days. I was finalised for the show but I was in two minds because the show was to be shot entirely in Chandigarh while my entire family stays in Mumbai. However, the team communicated beautifully with me and made me understand various aspects and that’s when I agreed to do the show.
Talking about her first meeting with Sargun Mehta, “I remember my first meeting with Sargun ma’am was at her house when we’d met for the look test and narration. During the meeting itself, she told us to not consider her as a producer. She made us extremely comfortable. Ravi Sir is very grounded, humble and approachable. He was always available whenever we needed help.”
Kamal Dadialla added, “I remember the other day I told Sargun ma’am that working with Dreamiyata Entertainment Pvt Ltd is more like coming back to maayka (maternal home) because you get so much liberty to work in your comfort zone. I wouldn’t say they’re ‘like’ my family; to me they ‘are’ my family.”
