As the world celebrates World Music Day on June 21, Jamai No.1 actor Abhishek Malik—known for his charming screen presence and diverse roles—takes a moment to reflect on the impact music has had on his life. In a candid conversation, Abhishek reveals that music is more than just entertainment for him—it’s an emotion, a healer, and a daily companion.

“Music has always been my go-to for everything—whether I’m working out, driving, or just taking a break from a hectic day,” Abhishek Malik shares. He adds, “It calms me, energises me, and sometimes even gives me answers when I’m confused.”

When asked about his all-time favorite singer, Abhishek Malik lig hts up as he says, “Without a doubt, it’s Diljit Dosanjh. He’s a powerhouse. His voice is so versatile—whether it’s a foot-tapping Punjabi number or a soulful track, he always hits the right chord.”

Abhishek Malik also expressed his love for music that blends genres. He says, “I like Bollywood, Punjabi, with a mix of English—especially Sufi mashups. There’s something magical about Sufi music. It connects you to something deeper.”

On the topic of his favourite songvihe says, “There are many, but anything by Diljit has my heart. ‘Do You Know’ is one of my favourites—it’s romantic, simple, and emotionally powerful.”

He also strongly believes in music’s ability to change moods. Abhishek Malik shares, “Good music can truly uplift your vibe. It refreshes your spirit and helps you start anew. You can enter a room feeling low and leave dancing—all thanks to the right track.”

Abhishek Malik shares a more reflective take when discussing the rising popularity of reimagined classics. “I’m not against remixes as long as they’re done tastefully. But honestly, I’d rather hear something fresh. New compositions and original sounds are what keep music alive and evolving,” he ends with a smile.
