Salman Khan slams Farrhana Bhatt for mocking Gaurav Khanna and demeaning television during Bigg Boss 19, bluntly telling her, “Open the gates please.”
The fiery exchange highlights rising tension in the house and the fight for dignity on national TV.
The Bigg Boss 19 house has been simmering with controversy ever since Farrhana Bhatt’s remarks about Gaurav Khanna and television actors went viral. What began as a regular captaincy task turned into one of the most talked-about moments of the season, exposing cracks in house dynamics and sparking outrage among viewers.
During a recent captaincy task on Bigg Boss 19, housemate Shehbaz Badesha is appointed sanchalak of the task, he removed Gaurav Khanna unfairly, which many netizens felt was a ploy to secure friend Amaal Mallik the captaincy. After Gaurav bowed out, Farrhana along with Tanya Mittal and Neelam Giri sang “GK kya karega?” and clapped at his exit. Farrhana went as far as saying she didn’t know who he was and hadn’t watched any of his work.
She mocked him further saying, “Kaisa TV superstar hai tu? Humne kabhi dekha bhi nahin.” (What kind of TV superstar are you? I’ve never even seen you.)
Gaurav, usually calm, finally lost his cool and shot back: “Woh jitni taali bajayein main iss show mein rahunga aur GK yehi rahega… Power of television dikhaunga. Main hoon yahaan ka superstar.” (No matter how much they clap, I’ll stay in this show and GK will remain here… I’ll show the power of television. I am the superstar here.)
Not just that, a day later Tanya and Farrhana mockingly called him “sasta Shah Rukh Khan” (cheap Shah Rukh Khan.)
These remarks didn’t sit well with netizens who demanded some action, and during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode host Salman Khan didn’t disappoint. He directly addressed Farrhana, saying: “You have said so many things like B-grade log and gandi naali ka keeda. Aap national television par yeh sab bol rahi hai. TV aapke level se bohot neeche hai. TV ki aukaat hi nahin hai ki aap is par nazar aaye. I am embarrassed. Maine Gaurav ke shows dekhe hain, meri maa ne dekhe hain. Main kehta hoon he is a superstar. Main aapko ek offer deta hoon. Yeh show, yeh medium aapke liye bohot chhota hai. Open the gates please.” (You’re saying so much—calling people B-grade, dirty-gutter worm on national television. TV is far below your level. Television doesn’t even have the stature to host you. I am embarrassed. I’ve seen Gaurav’s shows, my mother has too. I say he is a superstar. I give you one offer: this show, this medium, is too small for you. Open the gates please.)
With tensions rising, the confrontation has underscored long-standing debates over respect for television actors and the fairness of house dynamics on Bigg Boss 19.
