Natural-born psychic, certified spiritual healer, automatic writer and spirit guide communicator, Sharmila Cirvante spent her early years in Africa. After she turned eight, her parents moved to India. Since her childhood, she was always fascinated by ghost stories and the paranormal and always believed that there was a world which was trying to reach out to us.

From Psychology and Advertising to Spiritual Awakening
Speaking about her graduation with BA in psychology in Mumbai, she said, “I originally wanted to be a psychiatrist because I was very fascinated by the mind and how it works, but it was too expensive in those days to go abroad. So, I chose psychology instead. I was also interested in paranormal psychology from a very young age because the supernatural, spirits and ghosts, always excited me. I was always very curious about these things. After my BA, I went on to do a diploma in advertising and communications from Xavier Institute of Communications and immediately started working as a Copywriter in an agency.”
While her father’s side of the family was very academically oriented (her father completed his master’s from Harvard University, and her uncle was the vice-chancellor of Aurangabad University), her mother’s side of the family was more “boisterous and street-smart.”
She said, “My father worked with the International Monetary Fund as the economic advisor to the Bank of Sierra Leone and was doing very well professionally. I don’t have family from my father’s side; most of my cousins are from my mother’s side. My mother’s side of the family has always been psychic.”
She mentioned that her mother is a medium and said, “She used to get visitations – people would appear in her room and she would wake up at night, see someone sitting on her bed, and scream. This would happen at least two or three times a month, so sightings became very normal in our family.”
Even her nephew is a very famous mentalist. “He performs across India and internationally. I also have another cousin who works with energy. So somewhere, we’ve always been psychically linked. I feel what I have is largely hereditary,” she said.
Exploring Multiple Healing Modalities and Spiritual Practices
Apart from automatic writing, spirit guide communication, animal communication for both living and deceased pets, tarot, energy cleansing, and aura cleansing, Sharmila has also studied astrology. She said, “I use it only as part of my modalities. I’ve also studied past life regression, but I haven’t practiced it professionally. I will be starting my full-time practice by mid- or end of 2026. Another course I’ll be doing in January is Akashic Records because I believe all these modalities are connected.”
“When I do spirit guide communication or tarot, I receive downloads, and my downloads are very strong. I can see karmic connections. Learning Akashic Records will help me understand those connections more deeply,” she added.
A Vision to Build a Holistic Healing Community by 2026
What next?
“My future plan is to grow in this field. I would love to create a healing space or community, a space where people can evolve vibrationally. That’s a long-term vision. In the future, I would like to work with other practitioners to create a holistic healing program using different modalities and possibly newer ones. It will take time, but it’s definitely something I want to do,” Sharmila ended.
