From quiet intensity to effortless charm, Shivam Khajuria is carving his own space in the world of television and entertainment. In this exclusive cover story, the rising star opens up about his journey, evolving craft, and the values that ground him amid growing fame.
With honesty, confidence, and a modern edge, Shivam reflects on ambition, self-belief, and what it truly means to grow in the spotlight, both on screen and beyond. Excerpts:
Q1. Your journey into acting, was it planned or did it happen organically?
Shivam Khajuria. It happened very organically. Growing up, I honestly didn’t even know acting could be a full-time profession. When I moved to Mumbai for a corporate job, I started exploring theatre out of curiosity. That’s when I slowly began to understand the craft and realised that acting was something I truly wanted to pursue.

Q2. What were some early struggles that shaped you as an actor?
Shivam Khajuria. I wouldn’t call them struggles, I’d call them learning phases. I began my journey just as Covid hit and the industry shut down completely. That waiting period taught me patience and gave me time to work on my skills, understand myself better, and shape my approach to acting.
“Television is still the biggest medium that reaches people directly in their homes, so it’s important for it to evolve. Changing formulas and revamping storytelling is essential for television to stay relevant and not stagnate.
Q3. How do you prepare emotionally and mentally for a new role?
Shivam Khajuria. That’s actually the most exciting part for me. The process of understanding a character, their emotional depth, mindset, and subtle nuances, is what makes acting so fulfilling. That exploration is what mentally and emotionally prepares me for a role.
Q4. Is there a character you’ve played that changed you personally?
Shivam Khajuria. What kind of roles challenge you the most? I’m still at the beginning of my journey, so there’s a lot more left to explore. That said, I’m deeply drawn to emotionally intense roles. I’d love to play a psycho stalker, a chocolate boy, a doting father or even an intense lover, characters that push emotional and psychological boundaries.
Q5. Television content is evolving rapidly, how do you see this change?
Shivam Khajuria. I see it as a very positive change. Television is still the biggest medium that reaches people directly in their homes, so it’s important for it to evolve. Changing formulas and revamping storytelling is essential for television to stay relevant and not stagnate.
Q6. Who is Shivam Khajuria when the camera is off?
Shivam Khajuria. Honestly, I’m a very laid-back, couch-potato kind of person. Pretty boring by most standards. I love my space, my world, my people and I genuinely enjoy my own company.
Q7. Actors or filmmakers who inspire you deeply. Is there a performance you wish you had done?
Shivam Khajuria. Ranveer Singh’s performance in Dhurandhar really inspired me recently. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, as a filmmaker, has also influenced me deeply, his vision, scale, and emotional storytelling are truly unmatched.
Q8. What has been the toughest decision of your career?
Shivam Khajuria. I think I’m still figuring that out. My journey is still unfolding, and I believe the tougher decisions are yet to come.
Q9. Are you open to exploring OTT platforms or films?
Shivam Khajuria. Absolutely. OTT, films, theatre, even street plays. Any platform that gives me creative satisfaction as an actor is something I’m open to exploring.
Q10. What kind of stories or roles do you want to be part of in the future?
Shivam Khajuria. There are so many untold stories from Indian history that deserve to be explored. I’m also drawn to genres like sci-fi, intense romantic dramas, and concepts like time travel, stories that are emotionally rich and intellectually engaging.
