Actress Mansi Srivastava is all set to make a refreshing return to television in a positive role after almost five years. She will be seen playing Revathy in the newly launched show Lakshmi Niwas, which stars Manasi Joshi Roy and Rajendra Chawla as the central couple. The show revolves around a warm, middle-class joint family and places a rare spotlight on an elderly love story, helping it stand apart from conventional daily soaps.

Speaking about what makes Lakshmi Niwas unique, Mansi Srivastava highlights the core theme of the show and its emotional appeal. She says, “The heart of the show is the timeless love story between Lakshmi and Sriniwas. They share a deep bond, and Sriniwas does everything he can to fulfil Lakshmi’s wishes. I play their elder bahu, Revathy, in a large joint family that includes a dadi, three daughters, two sons, and an adopted son. Along with this beautiful love story, the show also explores relatable middle-class issues, which I feel the Indian audience will really enjoy watching.”

Opening up about her character, Mansi Srivastava describes Revathy as warm, grounded, and emotionally secure. She says, “Revathy is gentle and compassionate, always nurturing positive relationships within the household. She loves being in the kitchen, though she doesn’t have complete authority there and follows her mother-in-law Lakshmi’s instructions while cooking. At times, she dreams of having control over the kitchen, preparing food of her own choice and making decisions. She avoids conflict and doesn’t fight with anyone. Although Revathy and her devrani sometimes have minor squabbles, it doesn’t affect the overall harmony of their relationship.”

She further explains the dynamic between Revathy and her devrani, highlighting the character’s emotional maturity. Mansi Srivastava adds, “Revathy is a homemaker, while her devrani is focused on her career. Even though the household responsibilities largely fall on Revathy and no one questions this arrangement, she never voices resentment, which reflects her inner strength and positivity.”

Shifting focus to her own journey, Mansi Srivastava shares why Revathy feels like a welcome change for her as an actor. “It’s been four to five years since I last took on a positive role, so stepping into this character feels like a breath of fresh air. I had been wanting to do something like this for a long time, and I’m really glad it has finally happened.”

Mansi Srivastava adds with a smile, “There’s a personal connection for me because, like Revathy, I’m very attached to my kitchen. I prefer handling things my own way, and I admire how she remains positive and well-intentioned toward everyone, which is something I believe in too.”
