On the occasion of World Music Day, the actor opened up about his deep connection with music, the songs that inspire him, and a special memory involving his idol, singer Kailash Kher.
Music Has the Power to Transform My Mood, Says Amal Sehrawat
Sharing how music impacts his life, Amal Sehrawat said, “I am a big fan of music and love exploring different genres and styles. Music has a unique ability to ignite a neurological spark within my mind and body, instantly influencing my mood. It has the power to mentally transport me to a beautiful zone where I feel relaxed, energised, and deeply connected with myself.”
Talking about his musical preferences, he revealed that his choice of music often depends on the purpose behind listening to it. “If it’s for professional reasons, I choose a genre that complements the mood of the scene I am going to perform, as music plays a crucial role in mentally transporting me into that emotional zone. Otherwise, beautifully remixed Sufi songs with electronic elements are my all-time favourite. The blend of soulful depth and modern beats creates a truly mesmerising experience for me,” he shared.
When asked about the one song that never fails to brighten his day, Amal Sehrawat named Chaand Taare from the film Yes Boss. “It uplifts me in a very gentle, optimistic, and cheerful way. The lyrics and music fill my mind with the right kind of energy and positive thoughts, and after listening to it, I feel completely charged up and ready to roll,” he said.
The actor also expressed his love for Sufi music, calling it his “soul music.” “I deeply resonate with its rawness and the depth of its music and lyrics. In just a few words, it beautifully expresses the philosophy of life while blending it with mesmerising melodies. It has a calming effect on me and keeps me grounded, constantly reminding me that life, at its core, is simple,” Amal Sehrawat explained.
Despite his fondness for Sufi music, Amal Sehrawat admitted that Bollywood songs remain an integral part of his life. He said that Bollywood music has always been an integral part of his life, having grown up listening to its songs. The melodies and lyrics, he added, have accompanied him through different stages of life, making it easy for him to remain connected to the genre even today.
Amal Sehrawat Reveals His Favourite Bollywood Song and Singer
Speaking about his favourite Bollywood singer, Amal Sehrawat had no hesitation in naming Kailash Kher. He described the singer’s voice as soulful and captivating, saying he particularly appreciates the authenticity in his singing and the meaningful themes explored in his songs. The lyrics, he noted, frequently prompt introspection and deeper thought.
One of Amal Sehrawat‘s most cherished memories is linked to Saiyyan, a song that holds a special place in his heart. Recalling the experience, he revealed, “It was my first song as a model, which made it even more memorable. Since the beginning of my journey, I have been a huge fan of Kailash Kher Ji, so being a part of his song felt like a dream come true.”
He further narrated how a last-minute opportunity changed his plans. While spending time with his parents in Delhi and preparing to return to Mumbai, he received a call informing him that he had been shortlisted for a music album. After submitting a self-test from Delhi, he was selected the very same evening and flown directly to Jaipur for the shoot. “Instead of flying to Mumbai, I flew straight to Jaipur, where I got to meet my idol, Mr. Kailash Kher, and shoot for his evergreen song Saiyyan. It remains one of the most special and unforgettable experiences of my life,” Amal Sehrawat recalled.

As for what currently dominates his playlist, Amal Sehrawat revealed that “Dhurandhar 1 & 2” are on repeat. “The way the tracks have been remixed, created, and blended is truly mind-blowing. It’s the kind of music I can keep listening to on loop without getting tired of it,” he said.
