He was seen as Lakshman in Shrimad Ramayan, Balram in RadhaKrishn, Kartikeya in Vighnaharta Ganesh and the younger Karn in Suryaputra Karn.
Basant Bhatt made his debut in Hindi television with the role of Varun in the episodic crime thriller Arjun.
With Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana now dropping its official promo, the actor shared his reaction to the big-screen adaptation.
Talking about the promo, he says, I saw the promo and it looked really promising.
What stood out the most is how every actor is truly blending into their character — in their look, in their on-screen presence, and in their attitude.
You can feel the scale, the detailing, and the effort that’s gone in. With this kind of budget and with the best of the cast and crew involved, it has all the makings of an epic event.
Basant Bhatt, who has played Lord Ram’s brother on TV, also spoke about his personal connect with the epic.
He says, Ramayana is very close to my heart, so I have really high hopes from this film.
I just hope they do justice to Ram and to the essence of Ramayan the way it deserves to be portrayed.
As someone who played Laxman on screen and as a big admirer of Ram, I can only say this — Ram has a plan for everything. And his plan never goes wrong.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is set to portray Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi essaying Sita and Yash taking on the role of Ravana in the much-anticipated Ramayana.
The film promises a visual spectacle, blending cutting-edge VFX with Indian aesthetics to retell the story of Ram’s exile, Sita’s abduction, and the battle of good vs evil.
Made in two parts, the first part is slated for Diwali 2026. With a massive budget, top-tier cast and crew, and deep cultural roots, Ramayana aims to be one of Indian cinema’s biggest mythological events.
