“The strong engagement comes from the format being quick, emotional, and easy to consume. It fits perfectly into today’s fast-paced lifestyle, so people naturally spend more time on it without even realizing,” Imran Nazir Khan added.

Imran believes that micro-dramas are at a very exciting stage right now, similar to how OTT platforms were growing a few years ago. Imran Nazir Khan said, “It’s opening up new opportunities for actors, creators, and audiences, and I believe it will continue to grow and evolve in a very positive way.”

As per a statistic, 90% of viewers are watching it alone, mostly at night. On this the Imran Nazir Khan said, “This shows how personal storytelling has become. Viewers are connecting with characters and emotions in their own private space, which is actually very powerful for an actor.”

He admits that tier 2 and tier 3 audiences have played a huge role in this growth. Imran Nazir Khan said, “They have always loved strong storytelling, and now with easy access on mobile, their voices and preferences are finally being reflected more.”

Micro-dramas run on a pay-to-unlock model, and the actor believes that it is a modern way of keeping audiences engaged. “Storytelling has always relied on curiosity and anticipation, and this format just presents it in a more interactive way,” Imran Nazir Khan ended.
