Rumours have been swirling that Bas Itna Sa Khwaab might soon go off-air due to low ratings. While shows often face such speculations, what truly matters is how the lead actor reacts to the uncertainty. Rajashree Thakur Vaidya, who plays Avani Trivedi in the show, remains unfazed by the buzz.
In a conversation with Downtown Mirror Weekly, she shared, “Yes, there have been speculations, but nothing has been confirmed yet. We’ve been informed, but it’s not official. We’re still shooting, so it’s unclear whether the show will continue or go off-air.”

Having been a part of long-running shows like Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, the actress has adapted well to the changing dynamics of television, where shows often end abruptly. Reflecting on the reasons behind this shift in the television landscape, Rajashree Thakur Vaidya explained, “There are multiple factors that determine the longevity of a show. It’s a team effort. Ratings are influenced by various things — like the show’s time slot, its marketing, and whether it’s reaching the right audience.”
Rajashree Thakur Vaidya continued, “With so many entertainment platforms available now, like OTT, people are less inclined to watch shows that don’t fit their schedules or moods. The pressure to create a hit show and maintain its success falls more on the channel and the makers than the actors. They face immense pressure to ensure a show’s longevity. And nowadays, they seem prepared for shorter runs. Even if a show lasts for just a few months, that’s still considered a success, as audience patience has dwindled. People don’t always connect with a show from its first episode, so there’s no reason for only one actor to bear the weight of this pressure.”

On her personal approach, Rajashree Thakur Vaidya added, “I don’t take the pressure. My goal is always to do justice to my role. I’m committed to my character and the show, and I give my best. What happens after that is beyond my control.”
