Sameer Patil On Tumm Se Tumm Tak: Playing Anu’s Father Healed A Void I Never Knew I Had

Sameer Patil opens up about how playing a father in Tumm Se Tumm Tak helped him emotionally connect with a bond he never had in real life.

He shares how the show’s fresh concept and layered characters have impacted both his craft and personal growth.

There’s something beautifully unpredictable about an actor’s journey, especially when roles allow them to explore emotional territories untouched in real life.

For Tumm Se Tumm Tak actor Sameer Patil, who plays Gopal Sharma, father to Niharika Chouksey’s character Anu, the experience has been more than just another role it’s been emotionally transformative.

Reflecting on his character, Sameer shares how deeply personal the connection has become.

“Playing Anu’s father has touched me deeply because, in real life, the father-daughter bond is something I’ve never experienced,” he reveals, adding, “Through this role, I get to live moments I never had guiding her, protecting her, disagreeing with her, but always loving her. It’s been unexpectedly healing for me on a personal level.”

On the creative side, Sameer credits the uniqueness of the show’s storytelling for helping him deliver a more grounded performance something not often seen in a space often accused of being formulaic.

“I believe Tumm Se Tumm Tak stands out because of its strong story and rich characterisation,” he explains.

He adds, “The relationships feel real, the emotions are rooted, and every character is on their own distinct journey. It doesn’t just tick boxes it creates relatable, thought-provoking moments for today’s audience.”

Beyond the script and screen, the show has also shifted something within him personally. It’s offered him perspective not just as an actor, but as a human being. He says, “This project has reminded me to value patience and empathy.”

He adds, “You start to notice how people around you deal with relationships, ambitions, and emotional struggles. It’s made me more observant and more grateful for the bonds in my own life.”

Tumm Se Tumm Tak is produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under Studio LSD.
