In an Instagram video posted around his death anniversary, journalist-turned-creator Nidhi Vasandani spoke about the late actor, drawing on the time she spent covering him during her years as a reporter with a reputed news organisation.

Nidhi Vasandani said, “It is very unfortunate that today Sushant Singh Rajput is not among us. But I got a chance to get to know him closely when I used to do a lot of reporting from Republic Tv. This is a matter of 2020.”

She went on to say that the Sushant she came to know was very different from the one audiences saw on screen. “Sushant Singh Rajput was a star on camera, but the person behind the camera was much bigger than that,” Nidhi Vasandani said.

The first thing she spoke about was his academic record. Nidhi Vasandani said, “Sushant Singh Rajput was not just an actor; he was also a genius in studies. He won the National Physics Olympiad and won the All India 7th rank in the Delhi College of Engineering entry exam.”

Next, she brought up an ambition most people only ever dream about. Nidhi Vasandani said, “Sushant Singh Rajput bought land on the moon. Yes, the dream we used to see in our childhood, Sushant had turned it into a reality.

She also recalled his fascination with the night sky. Nidhi Vasandani said, “He had a professional telescope in his house, which he used to see the shadow of Saturn in the night. Think of a film star whose eyes were not only on the ground but also in the sky.”

According to her, this same curiosity shaped how he prepared for his roles. Nidhi Vasandani said, “For the preparation of a film, he went to NASA and took training like a real astronaut. He won every role he just did not play.”

She pointed out a rare physical skill of his next. Nidhi Vasandani said, “He could write with both hands at the same time, a talent that is very rare.”

There was a personal detail about his name too. Nidhi Vasandani said, “His mother Usha’s name was hidden in his name, Sushant.”

Nidhi Vasandani also spoke about a lesser-known entrepreneurial side of him. She said, “Sushant Singh Rajput did not just act; he also started a startup related to AI and VR and used to code for hours.”

He taught us that dreams are not just seen; they have to be determined to fulfill them. Today, when we remember him every year, we do not just remember an actor; we remember a person who has lived his life to the fullest. Because some people leave the world, but their dreams, their thoughts, and their inspiration are always alive.”
