Ram Bhavan actress Srushti Mishra opens up about the emotional cost of acting and the struggle to balance her real life while living another on screen.
Despite personal chaos, she reveals how she learned to separate her emotions from her character’s.
Working in daily soaps may bring fame and familiarity, but behind the glamour lies a demanding reality that few see. Long hours, little rest, and emotional exhaustion are part of the package—and actress Srushti Mishra knows this all too well.
Last seen as Ragini in Ram Bhavan, produced by Rahul Kumar Tewary and Rolling Tales Production, Srushti opens up about the toll acting takes on one’s mind and emotions.
“Back-to-back long-term projects can be draining,” Srushti Mishra shares, adding, “We shoot for 12 hours or more a day, often without fixed schedules or a proper sleep cycle. When you’re filming continuously, your personal life often takes a backseat.”
Srushti Mishra recalls beginning her role as Ragini during a particularly turbulent time in her personal life. “My world outside the set was chaotic. I couldn’t focus,” she admits.
She adds, “At first, I brought those real emotions into Ragini’s scenes. But my director, Randeep sir, reminded me—I’m an actor. I had to learn how to switch off Srushti and become Ragini, no matter what I was feeling inside.”
To her, acting goes beyond just speaking dialogues—it’s a deeply immersive process that demands total emotional and mental involvement.
Srushti Mishra explains, “You don’t just recite dialogues. You become the person. You adopt their body language, their mindset. And once the role ends, you have to leave that version of yourself behind and build a new one for the next character.”
Even with all the emotional ups and downs, Srushti Mishra draws resilience from her passion for acting. “It’s intense, yes—but It’s also powerful. We give every part of ourselves to our characters—even when our own lives are falling apart,” she concludes.
It’s this dedication that makes her performance as Ragini so raw and real, resonating deeply with audiences across the country.
