Danish Akhtar shares his thoughts on Republic Day, highlighting India’s unity, cultural harmony, and growing global strength.
He fondly recalls childhood celebrations and emphasizes the importance of passing patriotic values to future generations.
Actor Danish Akhtar, best known for his role in Siya Ke Ram and seen in popular mythological shows such as Jai Maa Vaishnodevi, Santoshi Maa, Kakbhushundi Ramayan and Shanidev, believes that India’s greatest strength lies in its unity during challenging times.
Sharing his thoughts on Republic Day, Danish Akhtar says that what he admires most about the country is the way people rise above differences and stand together. “What I admire deeply about the nation is its instinct to unite during tough times, when people across all sections come together with the same resolve, leaving divisions behind. Caste, religion, and other differences take a backseat. There is so much love and togetherness that it’s hard to put into words,” he says.
The actor adds that this spirit of harmony reflects strongly in his personal life as well. “My circle of friends may be different in many ways, but unity has always been at the heart of our relationship. Even in our play Hamare Ram, the characters represent Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian backgrounds, but everyone comes together on one stage to perform. That is the true beauty of our culture,” he shares.
Extending his Republic Day wishes, Danish Akhtar expresses pride in India’s global standing. “Today, India stands strong on the world stage. We are no less than any other country. We are confident, powerful, and progressive, and I feel extremely proud to be a part of this nation,” he says.
Recalling his childhood memories, the actor becomes nostalgic about school celebrations. “As children, we eagerly waited for Republic Day and Independence Day. We would practise for days, rehearsing skits and patriotic songs. Those celebrations filled us with excitement and a strong sense of belonging,” Danish Akhtar recalls.
Danish Akhtar also believes that such occasions play an important role in passing values to the next generation. “Such occasions provide a chance for loved ones to come together and share quality time. Parents should talk to their children about our freedom fighters and history so that respect and love for the nation continue to grow,” he says.
Concluding on a heartfelt note, Danish Akhtar adds, “There are countless reasons to love India, and I truly feel proud to belong to this country. I wish everyone a very Happy Republic Day.”
