Among the winners The Paul John Portfolio played a key role, the Indian Single Malt Whiskies brand, which continued its impressive global run with multiple accolades. The Port Select Cask expression was crowned Best Indian Single Malt (Taste), while also securing Gold and Category Winner honours in the No Age Statement single malt category. Bottled at 48% ABV, the unpeated expression is known for its rich aromas of vanilla, dark plum and red liquorice, followed by flavours of candied fruit, light ginger and peppery nutmeg, finishing with hints of orange mocha and spiced chocolate. Adding to the brand’s success, the Nirvana Unpeated picked up a Bronze medal, reinforcing Paul John’s consistent presence among internationally recognised whiskies.

Indri also made headlines at this year’s awards. Its Diwali Collector’s Edition 2025 was named Best Indian Small Batch Single Malt, while its Agneya expression won a Gold medal in the single malt category, further building the brand’s growing reputation among whisky lovers across the world.

Indian Grain and Blended Whiskies Also Shine At The World Whiskies Awards 2026

The success was not limited to single malts. All Seasons Sir E Taj was awarded Best Indian Grain Whisky, while Singhasan Whisky won Best Indian Blended Whisky, highlighting the wide range of whisky styles now coming out of India.

Together, these wins tell a bigger story of how Indian whisky is rising globally. With distilleries using India’s warm climate for ageing, trying new barrel finishes, and mixing traditional methods with modern ideas, Indian whiskies are now being compared with well-known whisky regions around the world.

Experts say these international awards are no longer rare but part of a steady rise. Each win not only celebrates a brand but also changes how Indian whiskies are seen — from a new player to a serious name in the global premium market.

With many Indian brands winning across categories, the World Whiskies Awards 2026 mark another important moment for the country’s spirits industry, as homegrown whiskies continue to gain respect and attention worldwide.
