Devanggana Chauhan Says “Reality Shows Break the Monotony of Entertainment” as She Opens Up About Her Journey
Actor, anchor, and RJ Devanggana Chauhan, who was last seen in Sapnon Ki Chhalaang and has also featured in Saavi Ki Savaari and Dhadkan Zindagi Kii, recently appeared on the popular game show Wheel of Fortune, hosted by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. In an exclusive interaction, she spoke candidly about her reality show journey, evolving entertainment trends, and future aspirations.
Reflecting on her early reality TV days, Devanggana Chauhan shared her experience of winning MTV’s adventurous travel show Drive with Nano. “A decade ago, this show was on MTV, it was a travel reality show called ‘Drive with Nano’ Season 3. We had to take a Nano car from Jaipur to Kargil. It was a 21-day shoot covering 21 locations, with the tagline ‘Exploring the Unexplored.’

Why Devanggana Chauhan Feels Game Shows Bring Fresh Entertainment
That’s where I truly discovered solo traveling. I was driving alone while the crew followed in a different car, and we explored places not many people know about, like Kud ka Patisa and Andretta Village in Himachal. Those 21 days were one of the most beautiful phases of my life. The show changed me, I started traveling solo after that, and I absolutely love it.”
Speaking about her recent stint on Wheel of Fortune, she highlighted how reality television has evolved over the years. “With so many reality shows today, especially singing and dancing ones, Wheel of Fortune feels very different. We don’t see many game shows anymore.
When I was a kid, I remember watching ‘Khul Jaa Sim Sim.’ Over time, singing and dancing shows took over to such an extent that almost every channel has one. But a game show of this stature brings something fresh, it breaks the monotony of entertainment. I think we need more such formats.”
When asked whether reality shows guarantee instant fame, the actor offered a balanced perspective.
“They definitely give instant name and fame, but as they say, the faster you get something, the faster it leaves. Very few people sustain that fame for long. Usually, it lasts about 12 months before someone new replaces you. That’s why I believe in taking baby steps. Doing small but meaningful things helps build something truly lasting.”
Devanggana Chauhan Reveals Her Desire to Join Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa
Opening up about her future aspirations in reality television, Devanggana Chauhan expressed her love for dance. “I would love to be a part of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ because I absolutely love dancing. It’s actually a hidden talent, many people don’t know that I dance pretty well. Of course, people also want to do shows like ‘Bigg Boss,’ but personally, I wouldn’t want to gain fame by shouting or creating unnecessary drama. So for now, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is something I’d genuinely love to do.”
