Fans of Sony SAB’s beloved Hindi dramedy Itni Si Khushi have been left emotional after the show officially came to an end, and now lead actress Sumbul Touqeer has opened up about the overwhelming response from viewers. Speaking about the show’s sudden conclusion, the immense love from fans, and her memorable journey with co-star Rajat Verma, the actress shared heartfelt thoughts on the experience.
The series, which premiered on August 18, 2025, wrapped up its successful run on May 16, 2026. Adapted from the British show Shameless, the Hindi version struck a chord with audiences through its emotional storytelling and relatable family dynamics. Across 225 episodes, viewers closely followed the life of Anvita, portrayed by Sumbul Touqeer, a strong young woman juggling family responsibilities, career aspirations, and personal struggles while raising her four younger brothers.

As social media continues to flood with emotional reactions from disappointed fans, Sumbul Touqeer admitted that both the audience and the cast had formed a deep connection with the show.
“I completely understand their emotions because they were so deeply connected to the show. “But unfortunately, it’s not really in our hands now.” she shared.
The actress also expressed gratitude for the immense support and appreciation she has received throughout her television career. Reflecting on the affection fans have showered upon her, Sumbul Touqeer said she never imagined receiving such overwhelming love from audiences.
“Regarding all the immense love I’m receiving from people: I never, in my wildest dreams, expected that people would speak so highly of me. People have showered me with so much love right from the very beginning of my journey. It has truly been an honor that so many people have given me such affection, placed such faith in my work and my projects, and loved my shows so much. So, I truly feel overwhelmed with gratitude for all this love.”
Addressing speculation surrounding the show’s abrupt ending, Sumbul Touqeer clarified that the decision was beyond the cast’s control and was likely made by the channel.
“We have absolutely nothing to do in the decision-making process. I believe it was a decision made by the channel, because, apart from that factor, our show was actually doing quite well,” Sumbul Touqeer explained.
Apart from the emotional farewell, the actress also fondly recalled several behind-the-scenes moments from the sets, revealing the fun bond shared among the cast members during shoots.

“Best memories I think whenever we weren’t shooting our scenes, we used to have a lot of fun together. “There were quite a few mango trees on our set, so we’d often grab a long stick and pluck mangoes for fun. Rajat and I would also run around the set chasing each other, and once we even climbed onto the roof of our vanity van! So, it was all about playing around and goofing off together; we even used to have Pani Puri parties every now and then,” she recalled with a laugh.
One of the most loved aspects of Itni Si Khushi was the onscreen chemistry and offscreen friendship between Sumbul Touqeer and Rajat Verma. The actress admitted that she would deeply miss working with him and described him as both a supportive co-star and a close friend.

“I’m definitely going to miss Rajat because this show turned him into a really close friend. We had an amazing time shooting together and shared some truly beautiful scenes. He’s a fantastic co-actor who always made me feel comfortable on set. He’s hilarious too — although equally annoying at times!” Sumbul Touqeer laughed.
The show also featured veteran actor Varun Badola and earned a loyal fan following because of its heartfelt narrative, relatable characters, and emotional performances. Even after the finale aired, fans continue to share emotional posts online, expressing how much they miss the show.
