Q1). You’re winning hearts as Latika in Gharwali Pedwali. What was your first reaction when this quirky supernatural comedy came your way, and what convinced you to say yes to the role?
Priyamvada Kant. When I first heard the script, I instantly felt it was something fresh and different. A cute, loveable, sanskari bhootni was a first on television. We don’t often get to see supernatural comedy on television, and Latika is such a fun and layered character. I loved the concept, the humor, and the emotional moments. It felt like a role where I could explore something new as an actor, and that’s what made me say yes.
Priyamvada Kant on Playing the Quirky Ghost Latika in Gharwali Pedwali
Q2). Latika is unlike the typical television heroine. How much of Priyamvada do we get to see in her, and how much has she challenged you as an actor?
Priyamvada Kant. I think Latika and I both have a positive attitude and care deeply about the people we love. But apart from that, she’s very different from me. She reacts to situations in her own unique way, and that has been exciting to perform. Playing her has challenged me to balance comedy, fantasy, and emotions naturally.
Q3). Your character balances comedy, fantasy, and emotion. Which aspect has been the most demanding and the most rewarding to portray?
Priyamvada Kant. Comedy has definitely been the most demanding because timing is everything. Making people laugh without overdoing it is not easy. At the same time, it’s also been the most rewarding because when the audience enjoys those moments, it gives me so much happiness.
Q4). We’ve heard you’ve been performing many of your own stunts for the show. Was there a particular stunt or sequence that pushed you completely out of your comfort zone?
Priyamvada Kant. Yes, there were a few action and wire sequences that really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Hanging upside down from the tree with that heavy costume and hair, sitting on a moving fan, jumping from a height and catching my co actor mid air. I had to trust the team and I really enjoyed doing them. It was physically challenging, but once we finished the scenes, I felt very proud that I could do them myself.
Q5). What has been the most memorable behind-the-scenes moment from the sets of Gharwali Pedwali that still makes you smile?
Priyamvada Kant. There was one scene where u was hanging on the fan was hilarious the whole family was in it while I was hanging on the fan it was extremely exhausting for me but everyone couldn’t stop laughing.. There are so many fun moments because our entire team shares a great bond. We laugh a lot between shots, and sometimes we end up laughing so much during a scene that we have to do multiple retakes. Those happy moments make shooting even more enjoyable.
Q6). When you look back at your journey, from your early television days to becoming one of the industry’s most versatile performers — what moment makes you feel, “Yes, I’ve truly come a long way”?
Priyamvada Kant. When I look back, I feel grateful for every project that has helped me grow. From television shows to reality shows, web projects, and now different kinds of characters, every experience has taught me something. The biggest satisfaction comes when people recognize my work and appreciate my performances rather than just one particular role.
How Splitsvilla 12 Changed Priyamvada Kant’s Career
Q7). Every actor has that one role that changes everything. Which character do you believe became the turning point in your career, and why?
Priyamvada Kant. I think every important project has added something valuable to my journey. Sharda of Tenalirama has been one of the best characters I’ve played, it reached audiences that I didn’t even think watched tv. It opened doors for me in so many ways and got so many projects because of that.. Winning Splitsvilla 12 introduced me to a completely new audience, while my television shows helped me establish myself as an actor. Together, these experiences changed my career in different ways.
Q8). You’ve played positive, negative, comic, and emotional characters. Which role surprised you the most by teaching you something about yourself?
Priyamvada Kant. Every role teaches me something new, but comic characters have surprised me the most. They helped me discover a lighter side of myself and made me realize how much I enjoy making people smile.
Q9). Winning MTV Splitsvilla 12 introduced audiences to a different side of your personality. Looking back today, how do you think that experience changed you both personally and professionally?
Priyamvada Kant. Splitsvilla was a life-changing experience. Personally, it made me more confident and helped me trust my instincts. Professionally, it introduced me to a much wider audience and opened many new opportunities. I’m grateful that I took that chance.
Q10). Recently, you shared that joining Splitsvilla was considered one of the biggest risks of your career. If you hadn’t taken that leap, where do you think your journey would be today?
Priyamvada Kant. Honestly, I don’t know where I would be today if I hadn’t taken that risk. Sometimes the biggest opportunities come when you step outside your comfort zone. Splitsvilla changed many things in my life, and I’m very thankful I believed in myself.
Q11). Audiences today are embracing stories across television, OTT, and films. As someone who’s worked in different formats, how do you decide which projects deserve your time?
Priyamvada Kant. For me, the script always comes first. I look at the character, the story, and whether the role excites me as an actor. It doesn’t matter whether it’s television, OTT, or films. If I connect with the project, I’m happy to be a part of it.
Q12). Is there a genre you still haven’t explored but secretly hope lands on your desk one day?
Priyamvada Kant. I would love to do a psychological thriller or a strong action film. Both genres would challenge me in completely different ways, and I think they would be exciting experiences.
Q13). Success often comes with pressure. How do you protect your peace and stay grounded in such a competitive industry?
Priyamvada Kant. I always remind myself why I started this journey. Spending time with my family and close friends, dancing, working out, and taking small breaks and travelling whenever possible help me stay balanced. I also believe in focusing on my own growth instead of comparing myself with others.

Q14). Is there a dream role or genre that remains unchecked on your bucket list — perhaps an action film, historical drama, psychological thriller, or something completely unexpected?
Priyamvada Kant. I would love to be part of a historical drama or a psychological thriller. I’m drawn to roles that truly challenge me as an actor and push me beyond my comfort zone. Those are definitely at the top of my bucket list.
Q15). Where do you see yourself over the next five years? Is the focus on acting, producing, entrepreneurship, or perhaps exploring international projects?
Priyamvada Kant. Acting will always be my biggest priority because that’s what I truly love. At the same time, I would love to explore international projects, OTT content, films, and maybe even production in the future. I just want to keep growing as an actor, embrace new challenges, and continue pushing myself beyond my comfort zone.

Q16). If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring actors who are just beginning their journey today, what would it be?
Priyamvada Kant. Believe in yourself and be patient. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Keep learning, work hard, stay disciplined, and never let rejection stop you. Every experience teaches you something valuable.
