Shivaji Satam To Make A Full-Fledged Return To CID By End Of May? - Breaking

Shivaji Satam is set to make a full-fledged return to CID by the end of May, following a strategic break during the IPL season. Fans can expect ACP Pradyuman to reclaim his iconic role, as the show prepares for major twists.

Ever since Parth Samthaan shared behind-the-scenes pictures with Shivaji Satam — the original face of the iconic crime series CID — fans have been buzzing with speculation about Satam’s return. While the veteran actor can be expected to be seen in a few flashback scenes, Downtown Mirror Weekly has exclusively learned that his full-fledged comeback is set to happen post the ongoing IPL season.

A source close to the production revealed, “Shivaji’s temporary exit and Parth’s entry were part of a strategic move to shake things up and keep the audience hooked, especially with the stiff competition TV shows face during the IPL. The idea was never to replace Shivaji but to introduce a surprising twist. He had only taken a short break, and now he’s all set to reclaim his position as the team leader and heart of the show.”

CID, one of India’s longest-running and most beloved crime investigation series, first aired in 1998 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Led by ACP Pradyuman, played by Shivaji Satam, the show earned a loyal fanbase with its gripping cases, sharp investigative style, and iconic catchphrases like Daya, Darwaza Tod Do. Satam’s portrayal of the no-nonsense yet deeply principled cop has become legendary in Indian television history.

Parth Samthaan, who joined the show recently as ACP Ayushmaan, brought a younger energy to the team. His character was written to be a contrast to Pradyuman — bold, tech-savvy, and occasionally questioning authority — offering a fresh dynamic. Addressing comparisons and backlash, Parth said, “I never intended to replace a legend like Shivaji sir. I knew stepping into the show would come with expectations. My role was a fresh addition, not a replacement. The love and criticism from fans only prove how much they adore him.”

Shivaji Satam’s much-anticipated return is slated for late May, following the conclusion of IPL 2025 — and fans couldn’t be more excited.
