HONK, Pullman New Delhi Aerocity Review: A Contemporary Pan-Asian Dining Experience
HONK, located at Pullman New Delhi Aerocity, is a contemporary Pan-Asian restaurant that brings together flavours and influences from across Asia. The menu features eight Asian cuisines: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Burmese, and Taiwanese.
Ambience
The restaurant offers understated sophistication, blending contemporary interiors, warm lighting, natural elements, and an open kitchen to create a polished yet approachable atmosphere. An alfresco courtyard provides a relaxed alternative for diners.
During my visit, the ambience suited a leisurely meal. The space offers the elegance of a five-star hotel restaurant while maintaining a lively energy.
The Food
We started with the Chinese Herbs Soup, which was light and comforting. The Avocado Temari offered a delicate blend of sushi rice and creamy avocado, while the Chicken Chestnut with Soy Sauce Dimsums added a savoury, richer note.
Among the mains, the Prawns in Chilli XO Sauce stood out. The prawns were succulent and coated in a savoury, mildly spicy sauce that complemented the seafood. The Yuxiang Chicken with fried rice delivered familiar Chinese-inspired flavours and served as a hearty main course.
The menu’s strength is its breadth, allowing diners to explore various Asian culinary traditions. HONK’s focus on eight regional cuisines provides considerable variety.
Service
Service was courteous and attentive, with staff available as and when needed. The experience was smooth and consistent.
The Verdict
HONK offers a polished Pan-Asian dining experience with a stylish setting, diverse menu, and well-executed dishes. While the meal was pleasant and several dishes stood out, it did not reach the level of a truly memorable culinary experience for me.
However, its comfortable ambience, extensive menu, and Aerocity location make it a convenient choice for those seeking an upscale Asian meal.
